Here at Travail we love a bargain just as much as we love to travel, but jetting off several times a year can be pretty expensive. We want to help you make the most of your money and give you are Best Budget Hacks to allow you to travel cheaper.

1. Afternoon Flights
If you’re planning on flying to your destination make sure to check out those flight options in the afternoon. Whilst an early flight may mean you get an extra couple of hours in your travel destination, choosing to fly in the afternoon can save you a lot of money. They also come with the added bonus of your hotel room more than likely being ready to check-in upon arrival, so no waiting around!
2. Hostels as Accommodation
Whilst the idea of sharing a room with strangers may seem daunting, hostels provide the perfect opportunity to meet new people along your travels offering shared living spaces and often hosting fun activities. If you’re not up for sharing a room however, most hostels do offer single occupancy rooms and are a much cheaper alternative to hotels. If we’ve tempted you, our “Top 10 Hostels” article will share with you our favourite Hostels in Europe.
3. Public Transport
If city hopping is on your agenda then familiarising yourself with public transport can be a key money saving tip. Train fares are often much cheaper overseas than in the UK and daily travel passes can give you the opportunity to hop on and off at different stops along your journey.
4. Travel Money Card
We’re all guilty of going over budget sometimes and the Post Office Travel Money Card is extremely handy when this happens. The reloadable card allows you to top-up your balance and spend abroad with no extra charges. 5. Working Abroad
You need some extra money? Then why not take the opportunity to experience different work cultures and get a job whilst travelling. Working abroad gives you the opportunity to mingle with the locals and give yourself an income to fund your travelling desires. Just remember to do some research on work visas if you plan on doing this!
