Moving to a cold country always means you must pack heavy. The cloths are bulkier and inevitably you need more of them because the likelihood is they are going to regularly get covered in snow or ice. So, bare this in mind when booking flights, it’s always important to have more than less especially if there’s a possibility of having frozen toes.

 1. Gloves

There’s nothing worse when you’re trying to work, trying to shop, going out for a drink, and your poor little fingertips are freezing and numb. A HUGE recommendation is investing in a pair of good quality gloves, that ideally are waterproof, with grips, and with velcro straps to keep them nice and snuggly on.

2. Sun Cream

I know. You really wouldn’t expect it. However, if you’re in areas with a large amount of snow and ice, the sun reflects off of it and you very quickly become a little rosy cheeked. And there is nothing worse than having hot sunburnt cheeks and being in a freezing cold climate. So sun cream is absolutely a must.

3. Woolly Socks

Similar to the glove theory, there really is nothing worse that having cold toes. It really does make or break your experience and days work. Cold toes for me personally are what can really put me in the most horrific mood. So therefore, I think it’s essential to invest in at least three pairs of woolly socks so that if they potentially get a little soggy, you can easily change into another cosy pair.

4. Moisturiser

The cold is the worst for drying out your skin. Even though it’s a wet environment the air is typically very dry, meaning your face and hands become very sore and dry. Therefore, I think it’s essential that you invest in a good quality moisturiser for both your face and your hands. And if you don’t take my advice on the sun cream, the moisturiser will come in clutch.

5. Lip balm

A good lip balm is essential. Not one, but at least three. One for at least one pocket, by your bed, in the car, in the kitchen. There's nothing more annoying than having chapped lips and its never the most beautiful look.
